resenting! i know it's late in the day, but i just feel like resenting right now. i resent the fact that the least welcoming people at my recent high school reunion were the other two lesbians in my class. they both knew they were gay in high school, i did not. i guess i don't "pass" their standards or something.

OMG! Since facebook, I got back in touch with J, who was the only out person in our school. She was hospitalized once for being bashed to within inches of her life. She's straight now. She left a message on my facebook "wall" saying "Holy crap! What's with everyone being into chicks now?" Me: "Everyone, J?" Her: "Heh. Well you guys sure would've made things easier on me in high school." Aw geeze. I wish I had known back then too.

yes! i think their discomfort with me stems from them thinking i stood by watching them be teased/harrassed/etc. knowing that if i spoke up i would have been treated similarly. but i had no clue! i thought i was freaking asexual! (then i met a few bois and well, the rest is history...) i guess i have to remind myself that it's tough to be out in high school because you're predisposed to be angsty to begin with. so unless someone is ridiculously supportive of you, it's easy to paint them in with the people who are outwardly unsupportive. so they see me has having made a x degree turn when really i have always had my current opinions on homosexuality (i was an "ally" for a year in college...heh).

It's too bad though. Personally, I'm thrilled to meet someone from highschool who's come out since we graduated, and I've been met with equally warm reception! I randomly met a guy at a club - he was all "Heyyyyy! FD! I didn't know you - " and me "Hey! YOU'RE here!" It was great. Their loss. :(

we ed those 'knew its' as in, a friend of mine from high school who also came out in college like me, when we were back in our hometown at a meager pride festival we would see people from high school who clearly came out later, turn to each other and snicker 'knew it!' i think it sux that you and QID had less than enthusiastic responses from old high school peeps.

solstice usually doubles as a dyke holiday :) makes sense that pride would evolve on solstice Anyone ever hear this song: "We carry pocket knives! Lesbians! We throw solstice parties! Lesbians! We have dogs that are part wolf - Lesbians! Oh yes, Lesbians!"

heh, yeah. its pretty small and i think it happens way earlier than LA or SF prides. it was funny to go. but i am hardly ever there anyway. i was supposed to go down next week but with the kitty so precarious i may not. someday we will escape our families together when we are both down there.

Resent father's day.

yeah & those irritating Outback Steakhouse commercials about he's-the-greatest-guy-you-ever-knew. Actually, um, no he's not and father's day is just another day to me.

is fathers day coming up? or is it over? its just another day to me too, onedash. (also, there is another roller derby this saturday night in davis, just sayin)

Sunday, I think. Just another day to me, too altho' I sometimes send a card to my bil since he's a really good dad.
