LGBTIQ Smoking Cessation Group Forming. New Mexico's first-ever LGBTQI tobacco cessation program will begin on Thursday, April 20th. These classes are designed by and for the LGBTQI community. Attending a "stop smoking" class doubles your chances of quitting. Stop Tobacco on My People (STOMP) and Equality New Mexico (EQNM) are offering a series of classes designed to help lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/two-spirit, queer/questioning, intersex, and HIV+ people QUIT SMOKING. This course will: * be led by trained LGBTQI facilitators, * be held at Irysh Mac’s Coffee House, 110 Yale SE, and * meet weekly for six weeks. Class dates: * Thursday, April 20, 7 PM; * Thursday, April 27, 7 PM; * Thursday, May 4, 7 PM; * Sunday, May 7, 3 PM; * Thursday, May 11, 7 PM; * Thursday, May 18, 7 PM; * Thursday, May 25, 7 PM. Before Memorial Day, you can be smoke free! Classes last no more than 90 minutes, and are designed to empower us all to lead healthier lives.
