Who's with me? I need to vent! I have been following The L Word since it started 5 years ago..and I thought Season 1 was fantastic..2 was ok..they slacked in 3..tried to make a come back in 4.. But this season 5 is nuts! They are pulling story lines out of their ass!!! And I want to kill Jenny myself! I've never liked her character and this season they are making her into such a b*tch!! It's crazy! Am I the only one here?!?! P.S. - Biggest mistake they EVER made in this series..was getting rid of Carmen. Ohh lala that woman was hott!!!!!!!!

the show is kind of disliked here I have friends who like it but even they admit the writing is often pretty bad. Some of the actors are very good even excellent but they don't have much to work with with the scripts. Personally I like Jenny. I like the actress who plays her and the other characters are so annoying I can empathize when she goes off on them ( I like it when she told Max off). I've only seen a few episodes. Just the plot line with Allan Cumming because I like him.

i love Jennys character on the show the actress herself is very good. all the actor's are excellent. cybal sheperd adds to the class, as far as acting goes, and so does, Pam Geer(sp) I don't think the show sucks at all, I really like it. I like, how, everyone is saying, I wanna kill jenny, and the last two i think; is Bette and Kit Porter. great show, I'll be sad to see it go its a free country and this is a posting forum after all. enjoy and have fun out there. I'm ready for the poucners to pounce.

I liked her in the Crow sadly the show seems like a dumping ground for good mid career actresses like Pam Grier who deserve better roles.

I will come clean and admit that I have, and do, watch the horror that is the L Word. I don't feel it represents me, or 90% of Lesbian America, but yeah. I watch it. I KNOW, right? Anyone sick to death of this topic, feel free to click away, because I have some opinions. And yeah my opinions on it are just that. If you love it non-ironiy, or really think the women are hot, then more power to you. I think it's just another badly-crafted soap. The music and sound design suck (Betty? REALLY? Why not the far superior Wendy & Lisa?) the writing is awful, and most of the acting seems phoned in. Especially Pam grier, who I otherwise worship. The show has jumped the shark so many times, it should air on Animal Planet. The characters are, for the most part, thoroughly un-appealing, and the "hotness" of the women, with a few exceptions (Hello, Tasha!) seems very airbrushed, boring, Playboy/male gaze to me. I freakin' hated Season 1 - more het sex than faux-lesbian! - and when they added the Betty-spawned theme song in Season 2, I almost clawed my ears out. I actually hate the show. But yeah, I have watched it on and off. WHY, GOD, WHY!!!!???? I hate myself for it - but it's sort of like a train wreck for me - I cannot look away. But hey, I also loved the cardboard sets and whole-hearted, winky-cheese of Xena, Warrior Princess. So sue me. I don't pay Showtime for it, for what it's worth. It's just a TV show.

i watch it too... same thing, I cannot look away...except lately, have not seen new season - will try to catch up on the shows when the volume is working on my home laptop again.

Oh yeah, I have no excuse for my forays into TV-land. Xena BSG Star Trek Buffy L-word Transgeneration Firefly X Files I even got sucked in to that godawful Tila Tequila back when we had cable for two months. If I have watched more than two episodes of a show, it is by definition bad. That's part of why I don't have cable, and just check stuff out from the library or netflix. But maybe all TV is bad.. maybe that IS why we watch it. After a long day at work, I never find myself thinking "Hey, I'd like to sit down and read some Faulkner and perhaps watch something educational about international relations." I'm all about letting my jaw go slack whilst watching Xena and riding the exercycle.
