are you kidding me? i broke up with my bf and i get to keep the apt but he wants to move into the across the hallway. granted we live in an awesome building and it will make moving his large heavy possessions-- furniture easier- and he's already cleared by the landlord- but isn't this insane! he thinks it's because i don't want to see him bringing home new gfs but honestly i just don't want to see him and don't want him to be my neighbor. what should i say? he's already told the landlord he wanted it while i was out of town.

not knowing anything else you sound controlling you broke up with him you get to keep the apartment and now you get to tell him how far away he has to move i'm sure there's lots of details not presented in your post, but if he's moving out isn't that enough? sometimes people break up and have to share the same living space for months, or sometimes they work in the same place et cetera look at it as a chance to grow!

not necessarily especially not after reading the handle history. i think in most situations if you dump someone you should really do the moving. this situation seems to apply based on what poppies has said so far.

stalker freaky and passive aggressive maybe the dumper should have moved out, but given that she didn't, it's messed up for the bf to inflict himself on her. if he was so attached to the building he should've kept the apartment, not made a plan to move in across the hall. that's just creepy. and among other things, what a way to kill any respect or good feelings she ever had toward him. what part of "i don't want to see you anymore" does he not understand?
